A Remote Monitoring System helping farmers keep track of their water pump systems saving them the trip everyday.

Together with ENICALSA (Renewable solutions company in Nicaragua) our Electrical Team is working to design and develop a 3G-network monitoring system for solar water pumps. There are currently 30 solar pumps systems installed in Nicaragua's countryside whose functionality is currently being monitored by ENICALSA's team in-person.

The team is developing a remote monitoring platform that senses various operating parameters of the solar panels and water pumps such as the temperature, voltage/current and water pressure. Next it transmits this data through GSM/3G to a central base for its monitoring. Currently, farmers have to physically and manually go and check their water pump systems which is costly and time consuming. This new remote monitoring system will save time, money and improve their efficiency.

Additionally, the software sub-team is developing a web application for data capturing and visualization which will better help the stakeholders understand data trends and key information.
